Every month I share what I've been watching, reading, and enjoying, as well as what's new here at Chef Kate F! Welcome to Table Talk.

I'm still favoring books over TV, specifically in the fantasy world! I've been spending a lot of time with family, but am excited for life to slow down a bit this fall. I've been training for a half marathon, working on my own novel, and continuing to work hard on my blog! Keep reading to find out more. 🙂
What I've Been Watching
This month has been similar to last month in that I've been reading quite a bit more than watching. We are on the third and final season of Bloodline, which we have been taking our time through—mostly because it's a hard watch. Sometimes when shows get super dark and heavy we have a hard time finishing them. I used to not be this way, but I find myself too aware of how TV can affect my mood, and let's just say this show has gotten super negative. It's tough though—I'm eager to see the oppressed outsider win out in the end, but I'm not so sure that will be the case. Do you have a show like this? Where you like it at the beginning, it takes a dark turn, and you have a hard time finishing it...but also can't not finish it?
I believe we become a product of what we consume, and I think that relates to TV too. That's why, to this day, I still declare Lost to be the best show of all time. It is flawless in its ability to redeem flawed characters, build beautiful relationships, and create an ending that leaves the audience deeply considering all aspects of life. It might sound cliché, but I like hopeful (happy isn't quite the right word) endings!

What I've Been Reading
Last month I talked about my obsession with the ACOTAR series. I ventured further into the SJM universe and finished the first book of the Crescent City series. It took me awhile to get into it—there was a lot of set up. But once the pieces fell into place and the story took off, I was crushed. No joke, this book rocked me. It was a serious page-turner toward the end and so worth the time it took to get there. I am currently reading the second book, and Sarah J. Maas is releasing the third book soon.

Where I've Been
This past month has been busy, busy, busy! I visited my cousin who just had a baby, and it was so nice to be able to cook for her and her husband. Then, her and the rest of my mom's side of the family came to visit us in Nashville. It's been lovely to be surrounded by so much family this past month.
I surprised Hunter with a staycation to SoundWaves water park at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It was such a fun, childlike experience to go down thrilling slides, swim in the wave pool and act like kids together. After the water park, we drove to the lake and rented jet skis—the perfect way to celebrate an adventure-filled summer.
I am thankful now to be writing this after three full days at home doing nothing at all. I love to go, go, go, but after a weekend like this I am reminded of how badly I need to isolate myself and rest too.
Does the fall season bring more activity and adventure for you? Or does it bring rest?
What I've Been Enjoying
I am a week away from my first half-marathon, so I have been spending most of my time training! I am excited to share my training details and what the experience is like. I will report back soon!
Every day I wrap up my work by writing several pages in my fantasy novel that I am creating. It has been such a fulfilling experience, and I am excited to see where this takes me.
I have been more focused on my blog in the past couple weeks, honing my photography skills and working on a fall/holiday content calendar that I am eager to see come to fruition.

Though working around rainy fall weather and evenings that get darker earlier has been a new challenge!
What have you been enjoying and working on this month?
