This month I'm sharing my favorite spots in Chattanooga for a weekend getaway, rounding up my favorite fall recipes on the blog, and sharing my lessons from running my first half marathon and what I learned at 30.

Let's dive right in!
What's New This Month
The biggest news from this past month was completing my first half marathon. It was so much fun that I've already signed up for my next race! If you are training for your first race or have been thinking about signing up for one, check out my blog on What I Learned From Running My First Half Marathon.
I turned 31 in October, and I shared 30 Things I learned at 30 on the blog!
Reading & Watching
This month I've decided to leave out the section, "What I've Been Watching." For the third month in a row I don't feel particularly jazzed enough about anything I've watched this past month. That being said, every October we watch the Harry Potter movies as they tend to span the holidays between Halloween to Christmas so it feels like the perfect season to rewatch these timeless favorites. We were lucky enough to see Prisoner of Azkaban at a movie night in the park with pumpkin ales and blankets. It was quite dreamy. We've also been on a bit of a comedy kick lately, particularly going through every Nate Bargatze special. Highly recommend. 🙂
I also don't have much to report on what I've been reading as I'm almost, almost done with the second Crescent City book by Sarah J. Maas. I still have nothing but praises to sing of her work so far. I plan to start her Throne of Glass series next.
Where I've Been
My half marathon was in Chattanooga, TN. It's a quick drive for us from Nashville and one of my absolute favorite weekend getaways. We took Frisco to Play Wash Pint for an unbelievably fun dog park experience.
Chattanooga is also a very outdoors-centric city. It has an amazing greenway that winds along the river and tons of hiking trails around its outskirts.
We love going to Whiskey Thief to take in the sweeping views of the mountains that surround Chattanooga, as well as the scenic river with its many beautiful bridges, including one dedicated to pedestrians only.

Chattanooga's Vegan Food Scene
Chattanooga also has a fantastic vegan scene! VegFest happened to be going on while we were there, but beyond that I enjoyed a plate of nachos from Cashew, a sprouted wheat bagel with an herbed cashew cheese for breakfast from Southern Squeeze, and a fantastic falafel and quinoa arugula salad with tahini dressing from Daily Ration. I also have to give a shoutout to Tony's Pasta Shop & Trattoria. This Italian restaurant has scenic views in the Bluff Art District, and there is a build-your-own-pasta option that resulted in one of the BEST vegan pasta dishes I've ever had. The sauce and veggies there were so flavorful and comforting!
What I've Been Enjoying
I've joined MasterClass and have been loving the variety of classes! I originally got on to take some creative writing/fiction classes, as well as photography and cooking classes, but I was surprised by how many other subjects and topics were available! In particular, I'm excited to take a class on wine tasting and styling hair!
