Equipment

  • Air Fryer* I use an Instant Pot Pro Crisp

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • teaspoon cayenne
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400F.
  • Cut sweet potatoes into wedges (see photo in step by step instructions above).
  • Toss potatoes in a medium mixing bowl with oil and spices.
  • Add potatoes to air fryer basket. (If it seems too full you can do this in two batches.)
  • Fry for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cook time. See note below about cooking time.
  • Serve with lime wedges and desired dipping sauce.

Notes

  1. Every air fryer cooks a little differently. Reference your user manual for suggested cook time for potatoes. Or check after 4-6 minutes and again after 10-12 minutes. The more familiar you are with your air fryer, the more you will know how long different food items take! I know the Instant Pot Pro Crisp takes a little longer than most air fryers.
  2. To make these in the oven: Preheat the oven to 425F. Chop, oil and season the potatoes as instructed above, perhaps adding just a touch more oil. Spread out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and roast for 25 minutes, stirring the pan halfway. Check your oven after 15 minutes and keep an eye on the potatoes until they are fork tender and slightly crispy on the outside.
